I rejected a guy..was it mean?

today i went ice skating with my best friend, the guy i really like, and his younger sister. these 2 girls came up to me and asked how old i was then said they had a friend who liked mer. i really didnt wanna meet him cause i was with friends, and it was my birthday celebration. i just wanted to have fun with my friends. so then the girls came back with the guy. and he was reallyy creepy looking. he had a mustache and he looked like he was at least 2 years older than me. when he came up to me all i could say was "i have a boyfriend" ..which i dont. i feel soo mean cause i didnt even say sorry first. was it really mean??
