Good idea for a fantasy/ romance booK?

Well the genre is very popular right now, bordering on overdone, but write what means most to you. Write for your own enjoyment first and who knows? I'd like to see more about mermaids (and I'm a sucker for ghosts), so it sounds like you have interesting ideas. Not sure about the Lemony Snicket/Stephanie Meyer comparison and how that would be targeted to an older audience, but write what's meaningful and fun for you. Good luck.
