What does it mean when a ex crush tells you this?

Ok so my school had a valentines day dance and my ex crush was going to ask me to dance but i went away and then after he was sad and stuff but he snapped out of it. after a while passed and when I had JB ♥ on my hand he was like take that off! and stuff what does that exacly mean is he mad at mer from the dance or is he like trying to do something else?
